Hello everyone today! I love rainbows and the reflections of the light in crystals or water drops. How about you? You do too, well then let’s see how Adrienne creates her rainbows and brings them to life at
Brief bio where you are from and how you started
I was born in Birmingham, Alabama. My Father was in the Air Force and by the time he retired, I had enrolled in nine different schools including three High Schools. I loved every assignment and experiencing so many different cultures and traditions. I will always be thankful that I was able to live in many different States, in England and in Taiwan.
How did your Studio get its name?
Many years ago, my husband’s parents had a huge crystal hanging in a window. I was fascinated by the beautiful rainbows the crystal produced when it caught the sun’s rays. I remember thinking they looked like dancing rainbows. Now, years later, that same crystal is hanging in our window…still beautiful, still producing Dancing Rainbows. Hence, the name of my shop.
My shop is http://www.zibbet.com/dancingrainbows
I also have a photography shop which is http://www.zibbet.com/treasuresfromnature
What material do you work with?
I started creating with primarily Swarovski crystals. However, there are so many lovely and fun beads now, I have enjoyed incorporating Lampwork and Furnace Glass beads into my sun catchers and jewelry.
When did you discover your creative side?
I watched my Grandmother knit, crochet and sew. I loved the rhythmical click, click, click from the knitting needles; I learned that craft from her. I learned to draw and paint from my Mother. As far back as I can remember, I made almost all my gifts. I paint, sew clothes, needlework, love photography…it doesn’t matter; if it looks interesting, I’ll try it. My other interest is the “great outdoors”. I garden, play golf, boat, fish, camp, love walking…anything that takes me outdoors.
To think it all started with a pop-bead necklace.
What inspires you and what get’s you motivated?
I’ve never been very good at just sitting. I’m always working on new designs and color combinations. I enjoy the challenge of custom orders.
I see potential creations in everything around me. I can hear a song and I hear it in colors. I see flowers or even a colorful food item such as “Salsa” and my mind instantly starts putting together a new sun catcher. Even the different Swarovski crystal shapes bring visions of a new creations.
Describe yourself with 5 words?
I am a Romantic. I would not call myself a Pollyanna but I do try to stay positive and see the good side of people. I am creative, inquisitive and very organized.
