Spotlight Friday: Sunflowers and squirrels

This inspired me to search for Sunflowers on www.zibbet.com

I miss seeing fields of Sunflowers. A few years back when my youngest child didn’t go to School yet, we planted at least 80 sunflowers. Most of them came up and started to grow really tall. But when it came for the flowers to bloom something happened to the flowers. At first we could not figure out what was going on, but then my Little one had seen it with her own eyes. She screamed when she saw what was happening to her lovely flowers.

A squirrel had ran up her sunflower, ripped off the head and jumped down with it. Sat on the ground and started picking the seeds out. We have not planted sunflowers since then. Maybe next year we could try again?
