2013 in review Thank you dear readers

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 4,200 times in 2013. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 4 trips to carry that many people.

Click here to see the complete report.

Thank you everyone for making this last year so much fun.
It has been a interesting one and I hope the next year will be just as fun or even better.
So far I didn’t make any big plans on what will happen with my blog, I mean no big changes. I just didn’t have time the last few weeks. Maybe you have noticed that I did change the layout and the color scheme a little bit.
I am hoping though that I will get some more interviews from other Artists, I like reading about their creative progress and how their Stores came to life.

I saw this on FB this morning and I thought this is a good way to look at the new year.

Turn over the page and start a new book.
This last year has been filled with many exciting but also hard to swallow days. But it’s what we make out of it that makes our journey.

All that I want for you is that you will have a wonderful Start into this New Year and have an exciting and fulfilling trip and when you look back you can flip through the pages and say:” it was not what I expected but it turned out to be so much fun!”

Today we will open our 2013 Jar, one like this.

I made some for our friends last year and gave them away as Christmas presents.
My kids are all excited already to read the little notes.

Enjoy your last day of 2013.
And then welcome 2014 with open arms.

I will hopefully see you here again, next year!

Spotlight Friday: Organize

When the year comes to an end, I usually start organizing everything and trying to get new systems of organization.

Trying to get back into swing of things after the Holidays.

For me it’s just easier when things have their certain spot, like that I don’t have to start a hunt for things when I need them. My kids usually now where to find the things too, if they where put back in the right spot. My hubby though is a different story. He puts things somewhere and leaves them there for a while. In the meantime they get moved during clean up. Then he runs around like a headless chicken because he can’t find things. We sometimes spend hours looking for one piece of paper because he put it in a spot, mostly right on my counter. (Sorry, but I need my counter space and stuff that doesn’t belong there get’s moved) If I could get him to put it in one designates spot, I think we could save hours of hunting. I kind of get the feeling though he likes the hunting.

Well, I think a little organization goes a long way and keeps me from going bonkers. So let’s see what Zibbet has to offer in terms of organizing

Spotlight Friday: relaxing

The last few days before Christmas Eve always get a little hectic. I can’t wait till it’s here and then the time for relaxing has come.

How do you relax?

With a good book, drinking your favorite coffee or Tee wrapped up in a blanket and listening to your favorite Christmas music? Or maybe picking up an old or new craft?

For us this mostly means family time, playing board games, reading books, playing Wii…and a lot of other fun stuff.

so let’s see what we can find on www.zibbet.com to relax.

Spotlight Friday: Ornaments

Ok, maybe a little late for this one, after most of the people here in the US have their trees up already. In Germany we used to buy our tree on Dez. 24th, decorate it and then go to Church to come home to a festive tree with gifts. Then have a light dinner and start gathering around the tree to unwrap the gifts while listening to Christmas music.

This is a Boy Choir close to the Town where we lived, called the Windsbacher Knabenchor.

Now to my search on Zibbet, I decided to look for ornaments.

Spotlight Friday: Candles

I love this time of year, everything seems to slow down. At least around here. I do my Christmas shopping during the year and mostly finish up before Thanksgiving.

So we have time to enjoy baking cookies, light candles and start listening to Christmas music.

I love the light the candles create and how they make our house feel more homey, and all those different smells.

So let’s see what I found on Zibbet when I typed in “candles”
