Spotlight Friday: soccer

I nearly forgot that it is Thursday and that I had to get my Spotlight Friday ready. The reason why it slipped my mind is soccer. I am following the http://www.fifa.com/  the 2014 FIFA world cup.

And Germany was playing the USA today, Germany won. Both advanced.

So now I can rest easy until the next match. Time to find some soccer items on

www.zibbet.com

Spotlight Friday: Fairies

After spending a lot of time in our Nursery this morning looking for a certain plant, we stumbled over a nook in the back area that said: All you need for your Fairies.

They had some already finished Fairy gardens and all kinds of little furniture, some little plants and signs. So fun to look at.

Well my youngest found a book in the Library where we had went next. Can you guess about what?  Yes Fairies.

It is Fairy Garden Handbook from Liza Gardner Walsh, it has many very cute ideas in it.

As soon as we came home she studied the book and made a list.

Can we make a Fairy Garden? was her next question. “sure” I said, we just need to find a container that will work and think about the layout.

Can we start today? she asked while I was stirring the spaghetti sauce. “I think it will be a little to late now, it is nearly time for dinner. How about we start tomorrow morning?” ” oh….ok…” and off she goes.

So I hopped on www.zibbet.com to see what I could find to get inspiration for our Fairy Garden.

This is what I found:

Spotlight Friday: snail mail

This weeks Spotlight got inspired by my youngest.

We where getting the mail from our mail box. I pulled everything out and looked through to see what came in.

“nothing for me?” she asked. “nope, sorry not today.”

“nobody ever writes me” was her respond. “Well if you don’t write anybody, I don’t think you will get any mail back.” “hm, who could I write?”

So I started a search, where could I find pen pals for my little one. I remember finding my pen pals in the back of a magazine. I had one in Canada and one in Greece.

I loved hearing about other countries and how my pals lived their life.

Nowadays it isn’t that easy to find a pen pal. Yes there is tons of pages for grown ups but not so much for kids. I found two that where promising, but both wanted a fee if you where looking for snail mail friends. Email was for free. So I started to ask my friends on FB, got a few responds back, but nothing yet.

Then I just searched pen pals for kids on FB and found a few groups. I joined some and waited. I got a personal message from someone in Australia. So now my kiddo is sitting in the living room and writing her first letter to someone she doesn’t know. I am excited to see where this will go from here.

Can you guess what I was looking for on www.zibbet.com?

Do you still write letters? Do you still get letters in your mail box?

I do, here and there, I should write more again.

I love getting letters in my mail. That friend took  a few minutes out of their day to sit down and just think about me and drop me a few lines.

What do you need to sit down and write a letter? A cup of coffee, some tea?

Spotlight Friday: 1980’s

My favorite Radio station is Antenne Bayern , we have a internet radio and it runs pretty much all day. And on Thursday they where playing songs from the 80’s all day. My  adolescence time, every song or every other song I was humming, dancing, singing. Too many memories.

just a little hearing test, what my kids had to listen to all day yesterday.

So I thought, wow all that fun clothing etc that we wore at that time, big hair, movies etc. Let’s if I can find any of it on www.zibbet.com
