The next color for the week is for Tuesdays, pink. It represents the Planet Mars.
According to surveys in Europe and the United States, pink is the color most commonly associated with charm, politeness, sensitivity, tenderness, sweetness, childhood, the feminine, and the romantic. When combined with violet or black, it is associated with eroticism and seduction. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pink)
In Psychology the color pink resembles Hope. It is said to be warm and inspiring, gives us a sense of comfort and the feeling of everything is going to be ok.
I have never felt comfortable around the color pink, I don’t know why. I don’t hate it, it just doesn’t feel right for me.
I found a page where it said:
If you dislike pink:
- You have unresolved emotional problems from your childhood with either your mother or father.
- You may crave more excitement and action in your life.
- Pink may be just too sickly sweet for you or too girly and feminine.
- You are not the compassionate and nurturing type.
Well, the first and the third point hit the nail on the head. The second and last one I would say total opposite.
For sure I wouldn’t paint any walls in my house in any pink shade. I do love looking at light pink flowers and I love seeing the sky turning all kinds of pinks when the sun rises or sets. Looking at my projects either knitting or macrame, there is rarely pink in it.
Do you like pink, where do you incorporate it?
