Spotlight Friday: Golden hour

I hope all my American readers had a wonderful Thanksgiving and time to spend with their loved ones.

I am sitting here looking out of my living room window watching how the trees are moving in the wind and the late Autumn sun is shining on the leaves. The look so nice. Some of them look like golden trees.

Chemical Element
Gold is a chemical element with symbol Au and atomic number 79. In its purest form, it is a bright, slightly reddish yellow, dense, soft, malleable and ductile metal. Chemically, gold is a transition metal and a group 11 element.
You can find Gold in a lot of different places. In Europe I saw a lot of Castles that had Gold all over. For example in  Schloss Linderhof in Germany, build from Ludwig II.
It is in our Jewelry, India is known for its lavish use of Gold in Jewelry.

Then it was present in finances. Gold has been a valued substance for as long as history can determine. All western histories of coins begin with their invention at some time slightly before or after 700 BC, in Aegina Island,[1] or, according to others, in Ephesus, Lydia, 650 BC.[2]Ancient India in circa 6th century BC, was one of the earliest issuers of coins in the world.[3]

Since that time, coins have been the most universal embodiment of money. These first coins were made of electrum, a naturally occurring pale yellow mixture of gold and silver that was further alloyed with silver and copper.

Also, the Persian coins were very famous in the Persian and Sassanids era. Most notably, in Susa and in Ctesiphon.

Some of the most famous and widely collected coins of antiquity are Roman coins and Greek coins.  (

Then you can find Gold in our Electronics.  Gold is a very good conductor and it is able to carry tiny electrical charges.

And every on of us even carry it around in our bodies every day. The average person’s body weighing 70 kilograms would contain a total mass of 0.2 milligrams of gold. The volume of this gold in purified form would be 10 nanoliters. If this refined gold were formed into a solid cube of purified gold, the measurement of each side of the cube would be 0.22 millimeters. ( And some of us even have golden teeth.
